Pricing

The base model Matinicus 18 is priced at $19,600. The base boat needs little else and will be ready to sail, including all permanent hardware, white standing lug sail with brailing line, all needed lines, blocks, 3 sets of oarlocks (two rowing stations and an oarlock port and starboard, at the stern, for sculling), hatches and other fittings. Price includes one set of spruce oars with our famous long custom-fit leathers. (Maine residents will need to add 5% sales tax).

Options

Because the Matinicus 18 is a semi-custom boat a buyer can request modifications, alternate finishes, etc. all of which can be negotiated (1)

The sail and rig supplied is boomless (our favorite) although an optional boom can be supplied, giving the boat even more flexibility and performance. Sail color is another option; cream (also our favorite) and tan-bark are available.

Also available is a motor well, useful for customers who may be boating in unusually strong currents (river use is typical) or on long passages in light winds.

At the customer's option, we can assist in the local purchase of a trailer and will fit it to your boat at no charge (any actual trailer construction/asssembly, if needed, is billed at our hourly shop rates).

Production

Production of the Matinicus 18 is limited to just 2-3 boats per year. A non-refundable deposit of 10% will hold a boat, with balance due at delivery. Please note that a larger deposit may be required in cases where a customer requests extensive customization. Please call us with any questions.

Shipping

We continue to ship our boats free anywhere within the New England states (the delivery includes taking the customer out for the first launch, setup and sail, if requested, also at no charge).(2) For those living outside of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island) other shipping arrangements can be made; we can work with you to get your boat delivered both safely and at absolute minimum costs.

The Matinicus 18 also fits conveniently within a standard 20' ocean shipping container, should your requirements include an overseas delivery!
